1) Upload audio (or video)

Croonify accepts most common audio and video formats. If you upload a video, Croonify uses the audio track and ignores the video. Songs are currently limited to 6 minutes.

Croonify synchronizes words to the recording, so you need lyrics that match what’s sung. Remove annotations (like [Chorus] or timestamps) and include repeated lines each time they occur in the song.

3) Croonify removes vocals and generates the video

Croonify uses AI-based separation and synchronization to produce a karaoke-style result. It can distinguish main vocals and background vocals with reasonable accuracy, and it’s usually good enough that the first draft is close.

Every word needs to appear each time it is sung. Some lyric sources only include a chorus once even if it repeats, which will throw off synchronization. Remove ads and extra text.

Higher quality audio helps

When producers “duck” instruments under vocals, you don’t notice it while listening normally. When vocals are removed, that ducking can become more obvious, and compression artifacts can stand out. Higher bitrate audio generally produces a cleaner result.

Choral / dense vocals are harder

Large choirs and heavily layered vocals can trick separation and synchronization. Croonify can still work, but expect you may need to use the timing editor more.
