1) Upload a song recording

Upload an audio file (or even a video file — Croonify will extract the audio and ignore the video). Most common formats are accepted. Croonify is limited to 6 minute songs.

2) Paste the lyrics

Paste the exact lyrics you want to appear on screen, including repeated choruses every time they occur. Croonify attempts to synchronize every word, so remove annotations, section labels, timestamps, ads, and anything you do not want displayed.

3) Croonify removes vocals and syncs lyrics

4) You can fine-tune timings

Use a normal track with vocals

Use accurate, complete lyrics

Every repeated chorus should be included every time it occurs. If the singer adds vocalizations not present in standard lyrics (for example “oh”, “yeah”, or extended syllables), adding those can improve alignment.

Prefer higher quality audio

Vocal removal exposes details you normally do not notice, like background “ducking” (the instrumental being lowered during singing) and compression artifacts. Higher bitrate files tend to produce cleaner backing tracks once vocals are removed.

Know which songs are hardest

Dense choral textures and heavy harmonies are the most challenging. Croonify can distinguish between main vocals and harmonies with reasonable accuracy, but some mixes are simply difficult.
